Ground Water Model

Request the CGWA Ground Water Model

The Colorado Ground Water Association owns a Sand-Tank Ground Water Flow Model that is available for use by our members.  The model is a two-dimensional ground water model measuring approximately 2 feet long, 1 foot high and 1 1/2 inches deep and weighs approximately 5 pounds in its carrying case.

The model includes all of the necessary equipment and the accompanying manual describes how to care for and use the model.  It also explains how the model demonstrates concepts related to general ground water
information, water quality, properties of aquifers, characteristics of water wells and the interrelationship of ground water and surface water.
The model has been used at legislative sessions, boy scout meetings, schools and Colorado Ground Water Association functions.  If any of the association members have a need to educate a group about ground water, please consider borrowing the ground water model to help in the effort.  Please contact the association at info@coloradogroundwater.org for more information or to request to borrow the model.
